OPINION:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fifty-one percent of likely U.S. voters said they would like to see all ballots accounted for and counted within 24 hours of polling closures, Rasmussen Reports found in a recent survey. Meanwhile, 19% said vote-counting could last a few days, and 26% said as long as necessary.<\/p>\n

Well, we know where Democrats stand on this, don\u2019t we? For them, the longer the vote-counting, the better. The counts don\u2019t stop until the Democrat candidate pulls ahead \u2014 and as soon as the Democrat pulls ahead, the vote counts stop.<\/p>\n

Election week; election month; election until nobody\u2019s paying attention anymore.<\/p>\n

Democrats see the vote-counting process as just another campaign strategy. They don\u2019t worry so much about a candidate\u2019s platform as they do about the cost for the attorneys they hire pre-vote to circle the ballot wagon post-vote and sue, sue, sue. Heck, it\u2019s a science for them \u2014 an art, even. They have to be careful to balance the numbers of their lousy loser candidates against the stack of cash they have on hand to go to court and allege voter discrimination, or voter disenfranchisement, or voter rights\u2019 infringement, and make sure they have enough money for all their respective candidates\u2019 fights. \u2018Cause their candidates can\u2019t win on principles and platforms, dontcha know.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn recent years,\u201d The Fulcrum wrote, way back in January 2020, \u201ccompetition between the Democratic and Republican parties to gain a tactical edge in elections has centered on technology \u2014 who had the most sophisticated system for identifying potential voters and getting them to the polls. This time, though, the leaders of the Democratic congressional campaign organizations have settled on a new strategy: going to court.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yep. Why not? It works for delaying deportations of criminal, murderous, raping illegals. It could work for elections, too!<\/p>\n

\u201cThe party\u201d \u2014 meaning, the Democrat Party \u2014 \u201chas gained scattershot headlines in recent months by filing federal lawsuits in mostly purple states, alleging an array of their election laws are unconstitutional voting rights\u2019 violations or contradict federal law,\u201d The Fulcrum continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s when thunderbolts struck.<\/p>\n

In 2020, that\u2019s when \u201cthe Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the two party entities charged with helping elect members of the part to Congress, announced that they were making an \u2018eight-figure investment in a legal strategy across key battleground states,\u2019\u201d The Fulcrum said.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Dems decided to set aside $10 million for election litigation.<\/p>\n

That was 2020.<\/p>\n

By 2022, election litigation had moved into high gear.<\/p>\n

\u201cU.S. Democrats stockpile lawyers, money to fight Republican voting laws,\u201d Reuters reported in February 2022.<\/p>\n

By 2024, election litigation was a booming business.<\/p>\n

\u201c2024 Is Already The Most Litigated Election On Record,\u201d Democracy Docket reported in November 2024, on the 5,217 voting-related suits that had been filed that year.<\/p>\n

By 2025, election litigation was just another normal facet of the election cycle and media outlets were in the \u2018looking back\u2019 mode of coverage \u2014 looking back at the history and writing up comparisons and contrasts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Recent Rise of Anti-Voter Litigation,\u201d League of Women Voters wrote in January 2025.<\/p>\n

If America\u2019s elections were conducted more in the way they used to be conducted, with an actual Election Day, when counting was wrapped within an appropriate time frame within the closing of the polls, then not only would there be more trust in the results, but also \u2014 think of the money the Democrats could save on attorney fees. Then again: The party has its billionaires.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t let Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders fool you. Democrats only detest Big Business and billionaires who vote Republican.<\/p>\n

In a piece entitled, \u201cBillionaires help bankroll legal funds used by parties to challenge election rules,\u201d Issue One found dozens of these 1 percenters giving big to Democrats, including music composer Gordon Getty, Skydance Media CEO David Ellison, Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-owner Avram Glazer, LinkedIn executive Reid Hoffman and wait for it, wait for it, \u201cphilanthropist\u201d George Soros.<\/p>\n

With a dedicated Election Day, and mail-in balloting permitted only in certain verifiable instances \u2014 those in the military or those facing severe medical issues, for example \u2014 and with a return to paper ballots and hand counts, most all the voting issues Americans have seen, experienced and suffered in recent times would disappear.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But then so would much of the Democrats\u2019 ability to win.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s why Democrats are quite content with stockpiling cash to fight election results in court: It\u2019s easier to them than finding candidates who can win on principle.<\/p>\n
