{"id":2726,"date":"2026-06-24T22:37:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T22:37:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=2726"},"modified":"2026-06-24T22:37:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T22:37:20","slug":"dei-to-blame-for-persistent-antisemitism-on-college-campuses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=2726","title":{"rendered":"DEI to blame for persistent antisemitism on college campuses"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>OPINION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On June 17, Accuracy in Media obtained an email sent by Seattle Central College professor David Quintero to his colleagues, describing \u201cZionist Israeli dual-citizens\u201d as \u201cracist genocidal rapist killers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=2724\">Democrats block justice for lawfare\u2019s victims<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Quintero wrote that he \u201cdidn\u2019t want to be next to them\u201d and even demanded that the human resources department get involved.<\/p>\n<p>The message and several of Mr. Quintero\u2019s antisemitic Facebook posts have gone viral, showing America that the antisemitism problem persists on our higher education campuses.<\/p>\n<p>In the weeks after Hamas\u2019 Oct. 7, 2023, attacks, Jewish college students were subjected to disgraceful behavior on campuses across the country. In response, university leaders were hauled before Congress for hearings. Donors revolted, federal investigations began, and financial penalties were inflicted.<\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s universities assured the public that they had gotten the message: Antisemitism would not be tolerated at taxpayer-funded institutions. They promised reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Yet those reforms have not happened. Recent events make clear that the problem persists.<\/p>\n<p>Given that the \u201cadults\u201d in the room feel comfortable communicating intolerance, we should not be surprised that in the same week that we learned of Mr. Quintero\u2019s email, a Cornell student\u2019s response to a job opportunity surfaced: \u201cNot interested in working for a Jew,\u201d the student wrote.<\/p>\n<p>These incidents point to the same uncomfortable reality: Antisemitism has been normalized within American higher education. In fact, the most revealing aspect of these stories is not what either said; it is that both felt comfortable voicing their antisemitism to colleagues and potential employers.<\/p>\n<p>How did we get here? The answer is simple: the ideology of diversity, equity and inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>Universities and K-12 schools have replaced the Golden Rule with DEI frameworks that divide society into categories of oppressors and the oppressed. Students are taught that it is morally good to use violence, or \u201cresistance to oppression,\u201d against an \u201coppressor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is precisely the worldview that motivates a professor to contact human resources about the presence of Jews on campus. In his mind, these actions are morally good because, in the DEI framework, Jews fall into the oppressor category.<\/p>\n<p>No matter how much a bigoted employee dislikes gays, Blacks or Asians, he would never announce his hate to the entire workforce because he knows (thankfully) that it would not be tolerated. They hate them thanks to principles of DEI, born and nurtured in academia. Despite 2,000 years of history to the contrary, Jews are categorized as an oppressor class because American Jews are White and wealthy and, therefore, deemed \u201cprivileged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Israeli Jews are viewed as \u201ccolonizers\u201d who oppress the Arabs around them. This ignores the reality that many Jews are not White or wealthy. Given the pogroms and Holocaust of the 20th century, it is utter madness to describe Jews as privileged.<\/p>\n<p>Rooting out DEI in our education system is critical to rooting out antisemitism.<\/p>\n<p>The unfortunate reality is that many public higher education institutions continue to allow DEI ideology to remain on their campuses despite President Trump\u2019s 2025 executive orders targeting DEI in federally funded institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Accuracy in Media regularly exposes those who promote DEI in defiance of state law. The U.S. Department of Justice is now investigating Arizona State University and Ohio State University, but these are just a fraction of the violators.<\/p>\n<p>Ending tenure for vocally antisemitic professors at public universities would also go a long way toward holding these radicals accountable for their words. A system intended to encourage intellectual pluralism has too often become a mechanism for protecting entrenched orthodoxies.<\/p>\n<p>Public universities should not provide lifetime employment protections that shield faculty members from accountability while taxpayers foot the bill.<\/p>\n<p>David Quintero should resign. No Jewish student or colleague should be expected to work alongside someone who has openly expressed such hostility toward them.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the problem is bigger than one professor. Why was he so comfortable sharing these views? Are these attitudes isolated, or do they reflect a broader culture within the institution? Students, alumni, taxpayers and policymakers deserve answers.<\/p>\n<p>If state and local officials are unwilling to confront these problems, federal authorities should take a closer look.
