Washington Times debuts \u2019Defiant Ones\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Washington Times is starting a podcast series highlighting the bravest women of the American Revolution.<\/p>

\u201cDefiant Ones\u201d is an immersive dramatic audio series that takes listeners through true stories of women who helped secure America\u2019s independence.<\/p>\n

Eight women are featured in the series.<\/p>\n

The first episode, which runs nearly two hours, features Abigail Adams\u2019 \u201cremember the ladies\u201d letter to her husband, John Adams, urging him to give women legal rights.<\/p>\n

The letter was sent to him while he was at the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, urging him to limit men\u2019s \u201ctyrannical\u201d control and let women have more \u201cvoice\u201d or \u201crepresentation\u201d in affairs.<\/p>\n

The podcast debuted Thursday and helps celebrate America\u2019s 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m honored to be part of \u2019Defiant Ones,\u2019\u201d said Billy Hallowell, journalist for The Washington Times and producer of the podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis series doesn\u2019t just tell history \u2014 it brings to life the incredible faith, courage and sacrifice of women whose stories deserve to be remembered. Their lives remind us that ordinary people, trusting an extraordinary God, can help shape the course of a nation. I think audiences will be inspired, challenged and deeply moved by these powerful stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Supreme Court retirement? Uh, not yet<\/strong><\/p>\n

NPR\u2019s Nina Totenberg sent a letter this week apologizing to Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. for wrongly reporting that he had announced his retirement.<\/p>\n

Ms. Totenberg, who has covered the Supreme Court for nearly five decades, reported Tuesday \u2014 the final day of rulings on cases argued this term \u2014 that Justice Alito was departing after 20 years on the bench.<\/p>\n

She quickly retracted the story.<\/p>\n

\u201cDear Justice Alito, there are no words to adequately apologize for today\u2019s error in reporting your retirement. It was entirely my fault,\u201d she said in her letter, posted on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI rushed out of the courtroom after the opinion announcements, and when I realized that the usual rush of folks after a few minutes had not happened, I asked somebody what was going on inside, to which the answer was, \u2019retirement announcements.\u2019 I didn\u2019t hear the \u2019s\u2019 on \u2019announcements,\u2019 and I assumed something no reporter should ever do, that you were retiring. It was the worst professional mistake of my more than 50 years in journalism. I could go on, but I don\u2019t know what else to say, except that I am so, so sorry.\u201d<\/p>

Her reporting went online and on NPR\u2019s air.<\/p>\n

Ms. Totenberg was likely swept up in the usual guessing game that occurs at the end of each court sitting, when retirements are often announced.<\/p>\n

Rumors that one of the court\u2019s long-serving GOP appointees might call it quits have circulated through Washington for months.<\/p>\n

Republicans hold 53 seats in the Senate, or more than enough to confirm a Trump pick. But that could change in 2027, based on November\u2019s elections.<\/p>\n

President Trump told Breitbart News on Wednesday that he is \u201ccertainly prepared\u201d should an opening arise.<\/p>\n

Justice Alito has his first book coming out in October: \u201cSo Ordered: An Originalist\u2019s View of the Constitution, the Court, and Our Country.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for retirement, it doesn\u2019t seem so. It\u2019s been reported that he hired law clerks for the upcoming term, which begins in October and runs through next summer.<\/p>\n

New lineup<\/strong><\/p>\n

Helios Media added Matt Morse\u2019s show \u201cThe Morse Report\u201d to its roster, where it also features shows like \u201cThe Dana Show\u201d with Dana Loesch and \u201cChicks on the Right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Morse is an independent, pro-American political commentator who maintains more than 800,000 subscribers on YouTube, one of the platforms where his show airs.<\/p>

His show is interactive as he chats with the audience during his web broadcast.<\/p>\n
