{"id":4237,"date":"2026-07-15T19:40:42","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T19:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=4237"},"modified":"2026-07-15T19:40:42","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T19:40:42","slug":"canadian-woman-accused-of-slapping-n-j-teen-wearing-trump-apparel-could-be-deported","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=4237","title":{"rendered":"Canadian woman accused of slapping N.J. teen wearing Trump apparel could be deported"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>A Canadian woman faces potential deportation after she was charged this week with slapping a teenage girl wearing clothing with \u201cTrump\u201d and \u201cICE\u201d spelled out on them along the Jersey Shore.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=4236\">Meet the wealthy new investor taking equity stakes in defense companies: The Pentagon<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Point Pleasant Beach police said they arrested Kaitlyn Tracey, 33, on Monday after she was linked to the random assault on the boardwalk, which started with a woman \u201cyelling at the female juvenile over patriotic colored sweatpants with political wording.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe female suspect was then seen on video striking the juvenile female, once to the body and once to the face, with an open hand,\u201d authorities said about the July 6 incident.<\/p>\n<p>Police said they charged Ms. Tracey with simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment and obstruction.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents obtained by NJ.com said the suspect was triggered by the teen victim wearing the Trump sweatpants. The girl was ultimately uninjured.<\/p>\n<p>A man named Matthew Geroni, who says on TikTok that he is Ms. Tracey\u2019s husband, said immigration authorities took her into custody.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know what to do. My wife is being detained by ICE. She\u2019s in Ocean County jail right now. I can\u2019t get over her,\u201d Mr. Geroni said in the video posted Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate video posted Tuesday, he said his wife was moved to ICE\u2019s Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean County jail records show Ms. Tracey is not in custody. She has a court appearance in the county scheduled for Aug. 4.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=4234\">Republicans sharpen attacks, accuse Democrats of denying funding for rural hospitals<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Washington Times contacted ICE for comment on Ms. Tracey\u2019s detention status.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Geroni said police told his wife they didn\u2019t have enough to charge her on the day of the alleged attack, so they told her to leave the boardwalk.<\/p>\n<p>Her husband said Ms. Tracey later turned herself in after authorities issued an arrest warrant for the Asbury Park woman.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Geroni said the couple has been married for over three years and that Ms. Tracey is a Canadian citizen. Court filings confirmed she\u2019s Canadian and she came to the U.S. with her passport in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just doing anything I can to get her story heard and bring any help and attention to her situation so that I can get her released, even if that means back to Canada,\u201d her husband said.<\/p>\n<p>While New Jersey has limited how law enforcement can cooperate with ICE since 2018, Ocean County\u2019s Republican-heavy Board of Commissioners has pushed against the mandate in the past.<\/p>\n<p>The county sued the state in 2019 over its updated ICE policy.
