{"id":4621,"date":"2026-07-21T14:06:56","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T14:06:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=4621"},"modified":"2026-07-21T14:06:56","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T14:06:56","slug":"new-fighting-blockade-in-middle-east-threaten-success-of-moves-to-stabilize-oil-markets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=4621","title":{"rendered":"New fighting, blockade in Middle East threaten success of moves to stabilize oil markets"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>The oil crunch is surprisingly tame amid the Middle East conflict, but governments and the energy industry should gird for further shocks that could send prices soaring, the International Energy Agency said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/homebuyerrelocation.com\/?p=4619\">Pentagon identifies U.S. soldier killed in Iraq during \u2018controlled detonation\u2019 of Iranian drone<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Crude oil markets are benefiting from \u201cseveral cushioning factors,\u201d but renewed fighting in the Middle East is concerning and leaves \u201cno room for complacency,\u201d said IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol.<\/p>\n<p>He said Gulf countries and other places are using alternative routes to avoid trouble in the Strait of Hormuz during the U.S.-Iran conflict, and emergency drawdowns from strategic reserves are providing stability.<\/p>\n<p>However, the turmoil in the Middle East remains a problem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe escalation in hostilities affecting the Strait of Hormuz and energy infrastructure in the region increases security of supply concerns and uncertainty over the market outlook,\u201d Mr. Birol said. \u201cThreats to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which has become increasingly important as a route to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, exacerbate these concerns further.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Birol, whose Paris-based organization promotes global energy security, is referring to a threatened blockade by Iran-backed Houthi factions in Yemen.
