NYPD officers patrolling the area around Madison Square Garden confirmed to Variety that they have been briefed about a flood of Taylor Swift fans, paparazzi and curious onlookers inundating Midtown Manhattan ahead of the July 3 wedding.
The nuptials are rumored to take place at Madison Square Garden, which sits directly above Penn Station, one of the city’s busiest transportation hubs, in an already heavily congested stretch of Midtown.
Security plans involve both the NYPD and private firms, and street closures around MSG are expected on the day of the event.

Between 1,100 and 1,200 guests are expected to attend the wedding party. The ceremony itself was reportedly held privately at Ms. Swift’s Rhode Island residence.
