The Metropolitan Police Department arrested a 17-year-old boy from the District’s Northeast area for allegedly committing six residential burglaries between the end of May and this month.

Police said Friday that the teen is facing two counts of first-degree burglary, four counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree fraud, unauthorized use of a vehicle and a misdemeanor count of possessing a controlled substance.
The police allege the teenage male committed burglaries at:
• A residence in the 800 block of Channing Street NE on May 30.
• A residence in the 1200 block of Third Street NE on June 4.
• A residence in the 1000 block of Half Street SE on June 11.
• A residence in the 300 block of M Street NE on June 14.
• A residence in the 800 block of Channing Street NE on June 22.
• A residence in the 6800 block of Laurel Street NW on Monday.
The teen, whom police did not name, is also accused of using credit cards stolen in the burglaries on May 30 and June 11 to make unauthorized purchases.
He was arrested in a stolen Tesla in the 1200 block of First Street NE on Tuesday after police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, at which point a detective recognized him as a suspect in the six previous burglaries.

Police said two other suspects, another 17-year-old boy from Northeast and Dylawn Calhoun, 21, of Southeast, were also present in the stolen Tesla.
Both suspects are charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, and the other 17-year-old, also unnamed by police, faces an additional charge of second-degree burglary.
The police did not say whether the second 17-year-old suspect is accused of participating in any of the six residential burglaries.
