OPINION:
CNBC’s All-America Economic Survey of 1,000 voters, and with a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3.1 percentage points, found more Americans would rather choose a political candidate who identifies as democratic socialist than MAGA.

Thank the school systems. Thank the media. Thank the weakened churches, with their watered-down messages.
Twenty years ago, it was practically unheard of for political candidates to openly embrace socialism and still expect to win their elections — outside of Sen. Bernard Sanders, that is, who has run the gamut of socialist to independent to democratic socialist, all the while honeymooning in what was then still called the Soviet Union, in 1988.
Now?
Democratic Socialists of America, an advocacy organization not a party, is seeing widespread acceptance among American voters, especially those in the age range of 18 through 34. Thanks to the public schools and the purposeful infiltration of the DSA into teaching and administrative positions in the education system, the youngest and most vulnerable minds in America have been taught for years now to think of this country as the reason for all the world’s ills; to think of capitalism as discriminatory and unfair; to think of the Constitution as an out-of-date document that was forged by racist White men; and to think that socialism is something that would create a world of happiness, joy and nonstop ease and comfort for all.
“The poll found that 32 percent of registered voters would be more likely to vote for a candidate if they describe themselves as a democratic socialist, while 50 percent would be less likely to vote for such a candidate,” CNBC reported.
“Twenty-nine percent of voters would be more likely to vote for a candidate with [President] Trump’s endorsement, while 52 percent would be less likely,” CNBC reported.
“A candidate who describes themself as a supporter of the MAGA movement does even worse, with only 27 percent of voters saying that would make them more likely to vote for them and 57 percent saying it would make their vote less likely,” CNBC reported.
Yay, Team Democrats.
The Democrat Party has successfully made itself irrelevant because its members have allowed the far-left interests to dominate the political stages. When Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez first came on the campaign scene, Democrats should have distanced themselves from her, calling out her open embrace of DSA-slash-socialist-slash-communist ideologies as too fringe, too radical, too un-American. But instead, the party did this: “DNC chair: Ocasio-Cortez represents the ‘future of our party’” — a headline in The Hill from July 2018, quoting then-Democratic National Committee chief Tom Perez.

That embrace is coming to haunt.
Today’s Democrats are fighting for political survival against a growing, open socialist-disguised communist crowd of young and eager — and angry and loud — Marxist-minded youthful candidates. Check the recent primary results; the nut jobs are winning.
That they’re still wearing their good little “D” donkey pins is only a temporary concession to the party’s old guard. Blink and the “D” will become “DSA.” Blink again and the DSAers will be sporting Soviet-style hammers and sickles. Capture the hearts and minds of the youth, and the sky’s the limit. Desired societal changes are just a matter of time.
“Voters aged 18-34 preferred socialism by a margin of 18 percentage points, while older age demographics preferred capitalism,” CNBC reported.
And remember, socialism is simply the softer, slower version of communism.
America stands at a crossroads. This way stands New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, with all his socialist followers, demanding higher taxes on the wealthy with the proceeds to be redistributed to those who don’t want to work; demanding tax-paid healthcare, tax-paid college, tax-paid housing, childcare and food. That way stands the Constitution, in all its individualistic glory, where rights and liberties to the citizen are guaranteed by the Creator — but all else must be worked for and earned.
Struggling 20-somethings searching their pockets for enough money to fill the gas tank might be easily enticed by the dangling of freebies from far leftists. This is where the media could educate on the dangers of giving up freedoms for free stuff, and show by historical context how socialism always breeds jealousy and class warfare and always brings poverty, death and destruction. This is where churches could get more involved in political discussions and show the fallacies of social justice gospel and the lies of believing Jesus favors socialism — the wicked like suggesting Jesus was a socialist.
But schools, the media, churches — they’re failing to talk truth. And these failures are bringing America ever closer to a doom that befalls all societies led by far leftists: chaos, moral and political decay and ultimately, internal destruction. Of the three, churches are the most crucial to maintaining American Exceptionalism. God-given rights and liberties, as put forth in the Declaration of Independence, can only thrive where God is present.
