Elon Musk announced on X that his artificial intelligence tool Grok Imagine will produce a “historically accurate” full-length film of Homer’s ancient Greek poem before the end of the year.

The trillionaire shared the announcement alongside an AI-generated short of the story posted by an X user.
This follows Mr. Musk’s earlier public criticism of Christopher Nolan’s film adaptation, including objections to the casting of Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy.
In May, Mr. Musk wrote a response in which he called Mr. Nolan an “anti-White racist” and said the filmmaker’s decision to cast a Black woman was because he “wants the awards.”
Mr. Nolan’s “The Odyssey” has performed strongly at the box office, earning $264 million in its worldwide opening weekend.

The film’s cast includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Ms. Nyong’o, Page, Jon Bernthal, Charlize Theron, Samantha Morton and John Leguizamo.
Mr. Nolan responded to the casting backlash by calling these prescreening arguments “irrelevant,” because no one holding those opinions had actually seen the film.
Mr. Musk’s post did not include further details on the production timeline or how the AI version would be made.
