Tina Fey is defending Timothee Chalamet amid viral “manspreading” memes of him sitting next to her at a New York Knicks game, news outlets report.

The former “Saturday Night Live” head writer said the Oscar-nominated actor was “nothing but lovely” during their April 28 court-side encounter during a recent appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
Ms. Fey said she didn’t even notice the incident until the following day when she saw the memes.
In the meme photos, Mr. Chalamet is shown sitting with his legs spread wide while Ms. Fey appears cramped beside him.

Ever the comic, Ms. Fey joined that while Mr. Chalamet’s legs may have spread forward, her figure was taking up space in the other direction.
“As Amy Poehler would say, God is fair. It was all good, and the Knicks won, so everybody was happy,” she said.
