Sen. Darline Graham, who was appointed last week to serve the remaining five months of her late brother’s term, announced Monday she’s running to win the seat for a full, six-year term.

Ms. Graham told Fox News’ Sean Hannity she plans to file this week to run in the lightning GOP primary slated for August 11.
“I’ve made a decision,” she said. “I’m in.”
She announced the news days after President Trump endorsed her as a candidate to replace her brother for a full term.
She was sworn in last week to temporarily replace Mr. Graham after he died suddenly on July 11.

Ms. Graham, who has dropped the use of her married name since taking office, works with people who have disabilities and has largely stayed out of politics, leaving big questions about her political views.
She’ll throw her hat into the ring with several more politically experienced GOP candidates, among them Reps. Ralph Norman and Russell Fry,
“I’ve been praying a lot and talking to my family. I know I’m a hard worker. I learned that from Lindsey. He cared about the people of this state. I’ve worked for almost 30 years for the people of this state. I feel like I can do it. I feel an inner peace about it. Will it be difficult? Yes.”
